Why Dogs Bite
The vast majority of dogs are safe, reliable companions. But even a friendly dog may bite if threatened, angry, afraid or hurt. Some dogs can be described as dangerous—bred or trained to be aggressive, with predatory instincts that may cause them to chase and attack a fleeing child.
Dogs Protect Things, Places and People
Just as humans do, dogs protect things they care about, whether their food, puppies, or favourite toys. They also protect spaces—their own and their owners’. Eating and sleeping areas, yards, porches, and parked cars are all commonly defended by dogs. A child reaching through a fence or arriving unannounced at the door, can turn a neighbour’s warm, loyal pet into a growling, aggressive protector. Dogs provide us with protection. We must ensure that children understand this and are aware of situations that may frighten or anger a dog.
Other Reasons Dogs May Bite
Cornering, crowding or standing over a dog, particularly a small one, may make it feel defensive. Children should stand back and never put their faces close to a dog’s mouth. The face is the most common site of serious dog bite injuries.Stray dogs are in danger and may be dangerous. Any dog that is loose may be lost, frightened or injured—and more likely to bite.
Sick or injured dogs may be afraid or irritable and should be avoided by children.
Elderly dogs may have impaired vision or hearing, or more sensitive to touch which can cause them to be more easily startled.
Some dogs are inadequately socialized. Dogs living with or around children need to be able to tolerate a degree of rough treatment without resorting to biting. Choose your dog carefully and discourage even play-biting by puppies, to avoid problems later. Most children’s dog bite injuries occur during play with a dog they know. A dog that is excited or nervous can bite by mistake. Children should be taught not to play fight, tease, yell at, or chase dogs or other animals.Dogs can feel left out, especially when a new baby or pet joins the household. Give a dog extra love and attention at these times.

Why dogs become protective of there owners?
Dogs who clearly know that the owner is the leader will likely live their lives in comfort and happiness. These dogs know that the owner will protect them from harm and ensure their well being. These dogs will trust their owner and respect him, looking up to him for guidance and directions. If the owner however is weak, the dog will take over the leader role and may feel compelled to defend its owner.
It may start one day and the owner may think it is funny, or even reward it. A stranger comes near the owner to talk, and the dog will growl. The stranger will stop in his tracks and leave. The owner therefore pets the dog reassuring him: ''Buster, it's OK, that's my friend.'' By petting the dog at this crucial moment the dog feels that the behavior is approved and will resort to the same behavior next time.
So a week later, another stranger approaches the owner and Buster starts growling. This stranger this time is not intimidated by the growl and will therefore continue getting close. Buster therefore becomes more aggressive to send him away. He growls lifting his teeth and showing his pearly whites. The stranger goes away. Buster now has learned that he must act more aggressively now to send away strangers, and a new behavior has been learned. This shortly becomes a bad habit and the owner has given up and decided that it is just a ''trait''.
Some owners actually tell others with pride ''my dog is very protective of me''. They feel that because their dog protects them, they must love them so much that they would what it takes to protect them. They however are missing something crucial: their dog is unbalanced and unpredictable, as he will react when no threat is present. A balanced dog would protect its owner if there is reason to do so, such as when the owner is being attacked by a robber or simply somebody with malicious intent.
Many times protective dogs are dogs that have no limitations in their lives. These dogs are allowed to sleep on beds, block doorways, lean on their owners for attention and beg for food. There are no rules to show them who is the actual leader. Therefore they become more and more dominant and resort to protective behaviors because it makes them feel powerful, just as the alpha pair leaders feels when it protects their family /pack.
Some dog breeds have a higher chance of acting protectively. Protection dogs, breeds that have been used for centuries to guard are more likely to be protective of their homes and owners. These breeds need to be socialized from an early age and must learn to accept strangers in their property. Allowing them to be over protective may make them be a big liability.
Many times dogs may become protective of children. This is because they can sense their weakness and vulnerability. While this trait is not really a defect, it becomes so, if the dog becomes protective when not necessary. These dogs may resort to growling and biting even when people with good intentions come too close. At times, dogs become protective when owners are sick or frail.
Some owners of female dogs at times notice that they become more clingy and protective when pregnant. They may be more protective of their owner and toys. In some cases, instead dogs may become more protective when they somehow sense their owner is pregnant. These dogs will stick near their pregnant owner and even block people from coming too close.

Why your puppies or puppy get sick?
So why do dogs get sick? Well for a good majority of them it happens because of two factors. The weather is one of them. If your family puppy is left out in inclement weather they are definitely more prove to getting sick. They are mammals just like us and if you were to say leave them outside in the driving fall rain and they get soaked and then the temperature freezes and they are still out there. There is a good chance that they will at the very least come down with some type of cold.
The second most common reason for a sick dog is by human error. Dogs are known for sniffing around and getting into things. It is what dogs do. That makes them very susceptible to becoming sick from ingesting something that they shouldn't. Environmental poisons left by the people that are their masters. Things like household bleach or antifreeze left in the garage. All of these things can make dogs get sick at the very least and can cause a very painful and ugly death.
While it is true that a dog can eat things that would normally make a human as sick as, well - a dog - it is still not a good idea. I have seen my neighbors give rancid meat to their pet. Food that could actually be smelled from a few yards away and smelled really bad. The dog ate it, later he seemed to have to poop more than normal but no other ill effects. But why take the chance of killing something that you love? My rule of thumb is that if it is human food that I would not eat myself, it hits the trash and not my dog.

Water is another thing that can cause illness. Dogs like to lap up water wherever they find it. However standing pools of water can hold lots of disease-ridden things. SO another good piece of dog health advice here would be to make sure that your pet has a good supply of fresh water to drink.
If you are going to be gone for some period of time and your puppy is an outdoor dog the least you can do is arrange for someone to feed and water him while you are gone, or even better - look into an automatic feeder and water dispenser to solve the problem and help keep him fed and healthy.

Why dogs bark a lot.
Dogs bark for three main reasons:
Puppies quickly learn that barking, whining and howling are sure ways to get human attention. They can also learn to bark for food, water or other treats. This behavior is learned from the owner's reaction to barking. If the humans run to the barking puppy and pick it up and cuddle it, the puppy learns that this is the best way to get attention. This carries on into adulthood, where barking is not desirable at all. Rather than giving into your puppy whining or barking, make it clear to your dog that YOU are the boss, and will reward him with attention or food only when you see fit. This will make life a lot easier for both you and your dog!
Dogs also bark to get the attention of other dogs. If you find your dog barking at the dog down the street try changing the location of the kennel or building a privacy fence that limits the dog visual range. Providing toys, activities and attention for the dog throughout the day will also help distract him or her from barking at other animals.

Why dogs pee in the house a lot.
If you have found your dog peeing in your house then you should know that there is a reason for this. It may be that they have a Urinary Tract Infection and you should take them to the vet. It may also be that they are marking in the house and there is a remedy for this as well. It is important to understand that dogs do things for a reason and understanding this makes it easier to fix the issue.
Instructions
- 1 Scent marking is where a dog pees is a certain spot so to let other dogs know that this is there area. Dogs have a much better sense of smell than we do this is why they use this method. Some dogs are more prone to do this than other dogs such as male dogs are more likely to pee to scent mark than a female.
- 2 Also you will find that smaller dogs will also do this over larger dogs and if you have two dogs in the house you may have a conflict with them even if it is a small one they can still mark in the house.
- 3 Usually this is caused by some kind of change such as a new dog brought into the house or maybe even a new baby can cause a dog to mark his territory.
- 4 What you want to do is to first clean the spot very well to get the smell up. It is important that you watch your dog the next time he gets ready to go there are do this you nee to distract him. You can use anything that makes noise this will help him to understand that he does not need to mark there place.

Learning how to stop your puppies or puppy from whining.
So you've got a whinging, whiny little puppy or older dog - it's got to be one of the most annoying and frustrating sounds of all doesn't it? Firstly I should say that this whining is a perfectly natural behavior for a young puppy - it is how they get attention from their mother from a very early age. It's when the whining or crying drags on and on and becomes a long term persistent habit that it becomes a problem for us dog lovers. The best solution to this whining, screaming or whinging behavior is to tackle it immediately, ideally before it establishes itself as an ingrained habit - try to nip it in the bud as they say. Always be fair, understanding and reasonable with a young puppy. Never forget that your puppy is a sociable little creature who hates to be left isolated and alone.
There are many measures you can put into place right now to help quieten your whiny little beast down. Put these ingredients in place and you will eliminate many of the reasons why your puppy may be whining.
Provide a dry, warm, safe and comfortable area for your dog.
Ensure that your dog is well fed and has access to clean, fresh water. If your dog whines in one particular area you may want to feed him/her in this area. This will provide your dog with a nice positive association to the area where he is normally unsettled.
If necessary take your dog out to the toilet every few hours.
One or two tasty dog chew toys may help reduce whining in some situations - a stuffed kong toy is a favorite with my dogs.

"Never Reward And Therefore Reinforce Undesirable Behavior - Always Reward Desirable Quiet Time"
If you feel everything is ok with your puppy and he/she continues whinging and whining then ignoring the behavior is the best solution. I understand that this is not easy but it is worth the effort - short term pain for long term gain. Each time you respond in any way to your dog's whining you are in fact rewarding the very behavior you are trying to eradicate.
If you have a persistent whiner only ever go to him/her when all is quiet. Repeat the following training program over and over until your dog "gets it". If you can hear your dog whining in the other room go to the door and say "enough!!" and quickly slam the door shut. When the whining stops (even for 5 seconds) you can go into the room full of praise and give your dog a tasty treat.
Now that should help your puppies or puppy to stop whining at night or day.
Puppies
Puppies are the most cutest pet that you can ever have. There sweet, there kind, there crazy, also they will always love you with all there hearts. Puppies can also be very annoying with all there whining, crying, and there messes that they make. There will be sometimes that you'll need to just kick them out of the house once in a while. It's not the puppies fault if the puppies does wat it does.
There just born that way all the time. So if you want to learn how to teach the puppies, or puppy to stop making messes all over yur house. Look at my next post.
